The next scaled release Racing Miku was sighted at the recent VOLKS Hobby Tengoku event in Akihabara. Tiny surprise here, it’s by FREEing!
That surely bucked the trend of Good Smile Company leading the official line of releases (especially for the scaled versions) for their racing series, but a closer look revealed that FREEing’s take is reassuringly splendid!
Racing Miku 2012 ver. is seen taking a semi-leaping pose as she waves the magenta/black chequered flag with her right hand. Her signature twintails are sculpted in a swirling manner to complete the image of her dynamic stance here, and would remind one of the highly popular Hatsune Miku Tony Taka ver. that was released back in 2011.
Racing Miku’s skin tone and hair are a flawless matt finish, while her race queen outfit is accurately reproduced in glossy look with a significant amount of translucent material, especially in her skirt and mid-torso area. Head ornaments include that centre crown piece and her twintail accessories. It’s like hair piece design was infused with her headphones and even extended with what seems like an ear-ring ornament. Futuristic and beautiful at the same time.
On a related note, GSR&Studie with Team UKYO finished 4th last season where Team Taisan ENDLESS took the championship for the Super GT300 series. GOOD SMILE Racing team can only hope for a better showing this year!
This 1/7th scale Racing Miku 2012 ver. would stand at about 260mm tall, and preorders should be delivered later this June. Check out the source for more pictures!
